Maryland- Frederick Keys

Frederick Keys vs Winston Salem Warthogs
High A Affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles
June 27, 2007
Harry Grove Stadium, Frederick Maryland
Me and Cooper
This was the third game we attended in our series of visits-  way back in 2007!  We had driven up to this point from our game at Durham.  This is a very pretty ball park, lots of parking across the street-  The big deal here is to "shake your keys."

The ticket has faded some- We were just starting our Cooper summer trip.

Tenessee- The Nashville Sounds

The Nashville Sounds vs Albuquerque Isotopes
Tuesday, July 20, 2010
Me, Cooper and Dante Meade
AAA affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers
Final Isotopes 9, Sound 7
This is Greer Stadium, which is close to downtown- There have been several attempts since 2000 or so to get the Sounds into a newer stadium, but they haven't been successful.  It was about 96 degrees at game time.  The game was kind of sloppy for AAA level baseball, lots of errors.  We were staying for the night at the Percy Priest COE campground just out of the city.  Got a pin and a ball.
We were right on the field, but not a great opportunity for foul balls, due to how the stadium was laid out.

Pretty sure there weren't more than about 2500 at the game!

We were 5 rows back in Section R, but actually it was on the front row.  The players did not want to toss balls into the stands, much to Cooper's frustration!  They wandered for a lot of the game.

Tennessee- The Memphis Redbirds

MEMPHIS REDBIRDS - MEMPHIS TN.
RED BIRDS VS OKC REDHAWKS
AAA AFFILIATE OF THE ST LOUIS CARDINALS
AUTO ZONE STADIUM
SUNDAY, JULY 25TH 6:05 PM
ME, COOPER, AND DANTE MEADE
OUTFIELD BERM SEATS
FINAL: REDBIRDS 7, REDHAWKS 6

Coop, Dante and I headed downtown for this game, while we were in Memphis to visit Deanna at St Jude's.  This is a relatively new downtown metro stadium, and very fan friendly.  Big crowd this night about 5900.  We sat in the outfield berm on purpose, to save money, $6.00 each.  I forgot to get a poster here that I saw that I had been looking for for two years, the one I use to display my hat pins, so we went back the next day to get it-  It's now on the wall, and displayed on my header.  We got the attendant to give Cooper and Dante a ball on that visit!

Georgia- Rome Braves-

Rome Braves  Rome Georgia State Mutual Stadium
Date of Game: August 3, 2010
Class A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves
Braves vs Savannah Sand Gnats
Final: Braves 7, Sand Gnats 4.
Cooper and I continuted our trip back to Greenwood in the motor home, coming in from the previous night at Huntsville, Alabama.  It was about 103 degrees when we pulled up to the park!  Paid $10.00 to park, ran the generator for an hour or so to cool off, rested, and hit the park at about 5:30.  Coop set a world's record here- he got 12 balls, plus a t shirt!  We said hello to Thomas Berryhill, who played for Newberry College.  He was later promoted to the AA Myrtle Beach Pelicans.  After the game, we drove 45 miles down I-75 to Kennesaw, Ga., to spend the night at a Cracker Barrel, 2 exits up from Bill's store- where we visited him for a short visit before heading on to Greenwood.

Brandon and I went to the game here-  The park was a little difficult to find, it's almost downtown, in kind of a rough area, in a park.

South Carolina- Charleston River Dogs

Charleston River Dogs vs. Greensboro Grasshoppers
Friday September 3, 2010 7:10 pm
Class A Affiliate- New York Yankees
Cooper and I- Part of Labor Day Weekend Car Trip to Charleston.
Stayed at Fairfield Inn, N. Charleston
Game was at Joseph C. Riley stadium, "The Joe" on the campus of the Citadel
Temperature: 93 Skies Clear
Attendance 6000+
Greensboro 6, Charleston 2

Cooper and I got here about 6 pm, and as we drove up, we asked about handicapped parking and was told it was free, and furthermore, it was right at the stadium.  Then, as we walked up to ask about tickets, we were handed a voucher for free tickets!  Score!
Then, as we walked down to the front of the stadium, Cooper noticed a ball flying out into the highway next to the box office, turns out they were having batting practice, and were hitting balls out in left field foul.  He got three balls before we ever got inside!
There were several giveaways that night, Coop got a mini-soccer ball, pencils, and he got several other small things.  The stadium is not very ball friendly, but Coop managed two more, heading out to the right field area, and he got a player to give him
one.  Coop got kind of tired by 9 or so, so we headed out before the game was over.

This is a beautiful setting for baseball, lots of fans- Coop got his face painted with a Gamecock and a RiverDog.

As of now, the only team we have left to do in South Carolina is Myrtle Beach- they just this winter moved their affiliation from Atlanta to Texas, I believe.
